From the Drawloom

Weaving with a Scandinavian Sensibility…

Drawloom 2.jpeg

A Swedish style countermarche loom with a draw attachment is capable of so many different kinds of pattern weaving that I suspect that if I had gone down that path earlier in my weaving career, I would never have gotten into the delights (and frustrations) of computer controlled dobby looms. There are so many different patternings possible that it is had to know where to begin.  But one of my all time favorites is opphamta, which is a float weave on a plain weave ground.

These are a few examples using my natural-dyed tapestry yarn on a ten shaft pointed threading.
